- It doesn’t take much to start a podcast. As long as you are in a comfortable setting, it is very easy to do. Building a makeshift sound booth isn’t all that hard to do either. It is important to calibrate your audio and do multiple takes with different mic positions.
- “Editing Audio for Video“
- In order to successfully edit audio, a few practices should be followed. The main one is to ensure that the audio you are showcasing follows a logical storyline. Actions like trimming and recombining audio pieces make the flow of the whole piece smoother rather than the raw recording.
Research to Inform
Video and audio have to work hand in hand to create something great. While they work great individually, if they are to be combined, there needs to be a balance between them. These are a few clips that highlight those balances.

- There is not a whole lot going on in this scene visually. But the audio makes up for some of what the video is lacking to build up the scene. The music, and ambiance especially, allow for this scene to be much more than just two characters talking.
- Law and Order: Special Victims Unit Season 10, Episode 22 “Zebras”

- This scene has a lot more happening visually. The audio, in this case, accentuates and dramatizes what is already happening. There is not that much dialogue as compared to what it normally might be, but the sound effects made by the actors.
- Grey’s Anatomy 300th Episode Promo

- This was a promotional video for the 300th episode of Grey’s Anatomy. They featured a single second from each episode along with some of the most iconic audio moments. What is interesting about this is that since both the video and audio of this show are so iconic, they don’t have to be synced for it to make an impact.

The first episode! It was so fun to create this and talk about one of my favorite things. This was recorded strictly on my laptop.
