- Chapter 7 – Lighting
- It is near impossible to get the sun to stay in the same place consistently, so it is important to use artificial lighting to get perfect shots. When shooting, it is better to have the lighting either in front of the subject. If the lighting is directly behind, then there is a good chance of the object being too dark and not showing up clearly. To shoot interiorly, three main lights are used: focusing quartz, broads and soft lights. Depending on the light needed, one or all of these might be used.

- Chapter 9 – Doing It
- Once everything is planned and in place, it is time to begin rolling the cameras. When the camera first starts filming, a slate should be used to indicate the project, scene number, and take number. This becomes important information when editing. Shooting scripts are also useful tools in order to ensure that every required shot is captured. However, sometimes you might have to go off script, or out of order, in order to capture the perfect shot.

- If you have not watched this documentary, I highly recommend it. It is inspiring, heartfelt, and so wonderfully produced. While watching it, you can feel the emotion pouring out of everyone, and I think that is what makes it so powerful.
- Miss Americana

- I watched this when it first came out. I remember it feeling very raw and intimate. The way it was shot was very intentional for what was being discussed.

- While watching this series of nature documentaries, I noticed, even though it is all narration, that the audio could’ve been more consistent in some places. At certain times, it was hard to hear what the narrator was saying because the ambient noises from the video overpowered it. It could’ve been edited to be more constant throughout.
