Elora Roberts comes all the way from Southern California to attend Quinnipiac University.  The seasons are her favorite part!  She is studying Data Science, with a minor in Math and looking forward to graduating in the spring.  She is one of the few (dare she say only?) non-communications majors currently enrolled in the Interactive Media and Communications graduate program as a 3+1 student.

Elora’s ideal career goal would be to take the skills she has learned through her Data Science studies and apply them to the media world via viewership, analytics, etc.  She hopes to get started with a Data Science job over the summer, while she completes her Master’s, then expand into the media industry.  Elora has always been fascinated with television and film.  The Interactive Media and Communications program seemed like the best choice to combine her passion with her analytical, data-science mind.

Elora dipped her toe into the Interactive Media and Communications realm in the fall and thoroughly enjoyed what she did.  It was quite a different experience from her typical rigorous data science and math courses, but it was a welcome escape.  She is taking two graduate classes this semester, ICM 506 and ICM 540 as she finishes up her Bachelor’s.  Elora is looking forward to the travel component associated with ICM 540 coming up in May.  Traveling and exploring new places has always been important to her.

In her free time, Elora enjoys reading, writing, and watching crime dramas and movies.  She enjoys spending time with her friends as well.  Her family is a big part of who she is, which includes her cat.  The quote Elora picks to describe herself is: “I know more than I say, think more than I speak, and notice more than you realize.”  It truly embodies her whole personality.
